Sunday, November 17
Seminar on Active Isolated Stretching
Led by Lois Orth-Zitoli founder of Full Circle Health

What is AIS?
Active Isolated Stretching is an effective therapeutic treatment for deep and superficial fascial release. Stretches are held for no longer than two seconds, allowing the target muscle to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex.  AIS is a great way to get rid of that stiffness we all feel.

Why use AIS?
Active Isolated Stretching restores the body´s flexibility more than massage and helps to keep us injury free.

The seminar will be interactive with demonstrations and practice of stretches for runners.

Please wear comfortable clothes that move easily.

Mindfulness & Addiction

Dr. Larry Peltz is the author of The Mindful Path to Addiction Recovery: A Practical Guide to Regaining Control Over Your Life. His talk explored the place of mindfulness training in addiction treatment and the wellness and recovery process. Through mindfulness we become more aware of the moment-to-moment experience, without judgment, and through this awareness we learn to be with our experience without reacting in a self-destructive or harmful way.

Dr. Peltz has been on the clinical faculty of  Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, trained as a mindfulness teacher at University of Massachusetts Medical Center and worked for two years in the UMass  Prison  Project.  He has taught mindfulness approaches to addiction and psychiatric patients for the 20  years.  Dr. Peltz has been an addiction psychiatrist for more than two decades, and is currently Medical Director of the Bournewood Caulfield Center.
