Meaghan Meet Meaghan, Leadership Coordinator, Quincy Chapter Leader, and Boston Bulldog Leader! Meaghan has been with the Boston Bulldogs from the beginning, joining just after the Bulldogs formed. She and Coach Mike Ferullo quickly formed a bond and Meaghan found something to keep her motivated, sober, and inspire others to do the same. According to Meaghan "there is nothing like watching the members finding their true potential!" Meaghan is the go-to for many Boston Bulldogs updates and events. She helped get the Full Circle Program and Leadership Program off the ground and has been a pillar of the Bulldogs community. Meagan is currently working on her 10th marathon for this year's 2021 Boston Marathon. You can meet Meaghan in Quincy on Mondays or at the Reservoir on Saturdays.
Jennifer Meet Jennifer! Many of you may have seen Jennifer at the Reservoir and know her from Bulldogs runs. Jennifer has been in recovery since 1989. She has dedicated many years investing in her continuous recovery and in others to combat substance use disorder. She joined the Boston Bulldogs nearly five years ago, and last year she completed her first marathon with the Bulldogs! Jennifer also serves as the Bulldogs’ New Member Coordinator. She warmly welcomes everyone to the club You can find Jennifer hitting the pavement always with a smile, even beneath her mask, and always willing to help her fellow Bulldogs and anyone in need.
Julie Meet Julie, best known as Juls! Juls has been a Bulldog for nearly two years. She first found the Bulldogs through a local recovery center. She never considered herself an athlete, and before joining the Bulldogs, she struggled to run a mile. Fast forward to today - Juls gets in over 20 miles per week through running and spinning. She joined the Leadership team in 2019 and continues to work on her wellness, inspire others, and is one of the Bulldogs' biggest cheerleaders. Juls welcomes all newcomers with (virtual) open arms and her infectious enthusiasm. You can run with Juls at our weekly chapter runs!
Scott Meet Scott! Scott joined the Bulldogs three months into sobriety in March of 2019. He went to his first Boston Bulldogs run on a whim and found the missing piece of his sobriety. He found the sense of community it brought and also the sense of being part of something greater than himself. It was another tool in Scott's ever-growing toolbox of recovery. With the Bulldogs, he realized he could ask for help and get it (just like in other programs) and continue to grow, not only physically through running, but also emotionally and spiritually by practicing three basic, yet important principles of the Bulldogs: self-leadership, transparency, and giving back. Scott also saw that what he learned was taught by other Bulldogs - both leaders and members. He realized he could pay it forward by becoming a Bulldogs Leader himself and passing on what he has learned.
Jess Meet Jess! She is one of our most welcoming and warm members. Jess found the Boston Bulldogs in 2019 while training for the Boston Marathon along carriage road. She officially joined the Bulldogs in January of 2020, excited to be part of a running club that supported recovery. One of the things she loves about the Bulldogs is that no one runs alone; the Bulldogs are a team and they support everyone the same. She found the Bulldogs to be a safe place to run and feel connected without worrying about being around drinking after runs or being judged for her addiction. Jess is on her way to complete her 5th marathon by the end of 2021. You can catch Jess leading the Bulldogs Thursday runs at Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Go Jess!
Conan Meet Conan! This time last year Conan was in a very different place. He went on a run with Coach and it changed everything for him. He couldn't believe the way the Bulldogs showed up for each other and for themselves. This was a community like he had never known, as many of us have experienced when joining. Fast forward to today and Conan is one of our most devoted members and Club Leaders, embodying our 3 principles: self-leadership, transparency, and giving back. His life looks completely different in all the best ways. Conan brings his patience, kindness, steadiness, and strength to the Club. And he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it! You can run with Conan at the Reservoir and in Quincy each week.
Tim Meet Tim, aka The Truth! Tim first joined the Boston Bulldogs in November of 2019. He found his sobriety a year prior in May of 2018. If you ask Tim what he loves most about the Bulldogs, he'll say... "there are so many reasons I love the bulldogs!" He loves the community and knows they have helped him to see his true potential, set goals, and ultimately accomplish things he never thought possible. Goals both with running and in other aspects of his life. He's also made lasting friendships. Tim ran a half marathon last year and he's gearing up for his first full marathon this Fall - The 2021 Virtual Boston Marathon! Go Tim! You can run with The Truth in Quincy on Monday nights!
Ashley Meet Ashley! If you've run with the Plymouth Chapter, you know Ashley. Not only does she lead this group, she is a pivotal member of this community. She joined the Boston Bulldogs in November of 2018, the same time she found her sobriety. Ashley went from never really being a runner to joining the Boston Bulldogs and running the 2020 Boston Marathon in a year! She has been an inspiration to so many members in this community. In Ashley's words "I love the community, the spirit of the Bulldogs. I love that regardless of how my week is going in other parts of my life, I always have my Bulldog runs to turn my day around with the people I love." She wears her heart on her sleeve and deeply cares about her fellow Bulldogs. Ashley's face lights up when she sees you and you can catch her smile every Tuesday in Plymouth running with the crew.
